Douglas Shaw, 57

Douglas Craig Shaw, 57, of Las Vegas, Nev. and formerly of Mendon and Three Rivers, passed away Jan. 4, 2011 at Nathan Adelson Hospice Center with his loving sister Leanne by his side.

He was born Jan. 20, 1953 in Three Rivers to George Douglas and Janet Lee (Selby) Shaw.

Doug enjoyed his bartending days in the Mendon and Three Rivers area and also at the Flamingo Hilton in Reno and Laughlin, Nev. After moving to Las Vegas he worked as a contractor. For a short time he moved to Louisiana to help rebuild homes after Hurricane Katrina. Doug was a free spirit and loved life to the fullest. His smile, his laugh and his caring ways will be missed by many.

Leaving to mourn him are his daughters, Jessica Shaw and Kasey Shaw; daughter in heart, Danielle Reed; grandchildren, Brenden, Kassidy, Braydee and Kyleigh; siblings, Leanne (Mike) Truckey, Kevin (Cindy) Shaw and Dee (Erv) Bontrager; two aunts; one uncle; eight nieces and nephews; former step-mother, Gloria Bottger; long time girlfriend, Alice Baron; many friends.

Cremation has been conducted. A “Celebration of Life” will be held in the Spring.
