Margaret Sarah Miller, 81, of Burr Oak, passed away Tuesday evening, Jan. 4, 2011, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.
She was born Oct. 30, 1929, in Howe, Ind., a daughter of the late Frank and Irene (Johnson) Friend.
Margaret had resided in the Burr Oak area most of her life.
On Feb. 21, 1952, she married Kenneth Miller in Angola, Ind.
She retired from the Kirsch Company in Sturgis following more than 35 years of dedicated employment.
Margaret enjoyed bowling and loved her many cats.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Miller, of Burr Oak; three daughters, Virginia Tomlinson of Sturgis, Betty (James) Riley of Lavaca, Ark., and Vicky (Todd) Ryan of LaGrange, Ind.; ae son, Michael (Monica) Miller of Burr Oak; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Emma (William) Kerns of Burr Oak and Betty (William) Krontz of Sturgis; a brother, Frank (Mary) Friend of Howe, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel,
114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis. In accordance with her wishes cremation will follow the visitation. Private burial of the ashes will take place at the Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak.
