Martin Mayer, 97

Mr. Martin Adam Mayer, 97, of Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of Three Rivers, passed away on Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 at his home. He was born in Fabius Township on Sept. 12, 1913 the son of John and Marianna (Reiss) Mayer.

Mr. Mayer spent many years in Three Rivers working as a Petroleum Distributor for Walters Dimmick Shell for over 27 years. On June 29, 1935 he was united in marriage to Roma M. Templin, whom preceded him in death in 2005.

Mr. Mayer was also preceded in death by his parents and six siblings, Harry, John and Joseph Mayer, and Mary Detwiler, Nellie Penn and Rose Dimmick.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory one son, Kenneth William (Ellie) Mayer of Lynn Haven, Fla.; three grandchildren, John Glenn (Karen) Mayer, Katherine Peterson, Mark Mayer; 12 great-grandchildren.

The family of Mr. Martin Mayer will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 7 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with a Rosary service starting at 7:30 p.m.

A mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Fr. Mark J. Vyverman as celebrant.

Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Three Rivers.

Memorials may be donated to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Envelopes available at the funeral home.
