Paul E. Carroll Jr., 81, of Saline, passed away Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at Saline Evangelical Home.
He was born Feb. 16, 1929, in Buffalo, N.Y., a son of Paul E. Sr. and Dorothy F. (Bowser) Carroll.
On Dec. 26, 1950, he married Charlotte L. Fitzpatrick, and she survives.
Paul retired from General Motors in 1991 with 38 years of service. He worked at the Hydramatic plants in Ypsilanti, Three Rivers and Constantine as a materials procurement manager.
In addition to his wife, other survivors include his children, Dr. Charlene (Dr. Rich) Clark, Madeline Carroll, Paul (Gretchen) Carroll, Timothy (Gigi) Carroll, Michele (Jeff) Hamminga, Sean (Lisa) Carroll and Noel (Tom) Summers; 25 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters; one uncle; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church 910 Austin Drive, Saline, with the Rev. Fr. William J. Stevenson, celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Parkinson’s Foundation or St. Joseph Hospice and envelopes will be available at the church.
