Richard M. King, 75, of Three Rivers, passed away Jan. 12, 2011.
Richard was born Dec. 26, 1935, in Sturgis, a son of Elvyn and Frances (Mumby) King.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Richard retired from Armstrong International after 33 years in 1998. He attended Chapman Memorial Church of the Nazarene at Indian Lake. He loved his gardening, fishing and dancing with his wife at Scott’s Community Center.
Surviving are his wife Katherine, three children; Michael (Pamela) King of Three Rivers, Becky (Kevin) Oldham of Hudsonville and Philip King of Niles; three stepchildren. Tommy A. Johnson of Kalamazoo, James P. Johnson of San Diego and Jon G. (Connie) Johnson of Mattawan; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, John (Doris) King and Howard (Joyce) King; two sisters, Alice L. Marvin and Lois (Wayne) Widder; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alice Marie King.
At his request, cremation has taken place. A time of remembrance will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Howardsville Gospel Chapel on Bent Road, Marcellus. A reception will follow.
