Robert Kryder, age 86, of Colon, passed away Jan. 2, 2011, at Heartland Health Care of Three Rivers.
Bob was born Nov. 16, 1924, in Ligonier, Ind., a son to the late Aaron (Gus) and Pearl (Grove) Kryder.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy for four years, spending most of those years on Submarines.
On June 15, 1946, he married Dolores DeOliver in Sturgis. They had lived in Arizona in the winters and Colon in the summer.
Bob had worked in industrial printing, retiring as plant manager, in 1987, from Sorg Products in Ligonier, Ind.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores of Colon; children, Robert A. (Gwen) Kryder of Colon, Kenneth (Judy) Kryder of Colon, Darrell Kryder of Goshen; grandchildren, Jill and Chris Tyler of Colon Monica and Chad Jordan of Sturgis, Tara R. Kryder of Colon, Kevin Kryder of Eugene, Ore., Tara M. Kryder of Eugene, Ore., Ashley Kryder of Goshen, Ind., Angie Frost of Goshen, Ind.; great-grandchildren, Aaron and Haley Tyler of Colon, Travis and Amber Kuhlmann of Colon, Kandyce Jordan of Sturgis; sister, Dorothy Tuten of Charleston, S.C.; and niece, Suzanne Tuten of Charleston, S.C.
There will be no visitation or services. Cremation has taken place. For memorials, give someone you love something special in Bob’s memory. The family was assisted by the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon.
