Paul Pridgeon, 71

Paul R. Pridgeon,age 71, of Sturgis, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at the Courtyard Healthcare Center in Goshen, Ind.

He was born March 7, 1939, in Fairfax, a son of the late Ernest and Josephine (Roberts) Pridgeon.

On Sept. 2, 1985, at the First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis, he married M.Jane (Bashor) Julien.

Paul attended Lima School in Howe, Ind., and resided most of his life in Sturgis. He worked at Central Transport in Sturgis and retired in 1994 from A.N.R. Trucking.

Paul loved his Lord and Savior and enjoyed witnessing to anyone he could. He was involved in Jail Ministry, and along with his wife nursing home ministry for many years. He also enjoyed sailing on the area lakes with his sailboat and was a lover of animals.

Surviving are his wife, M. Jane Pridgeon; two children, Timothy B. Pridgeon and Sherrie (Dan) Sleep of Fenton; five step-children, Bryce and Debra (Julien) Eller and Edward and Diana (Julien) Sims both of Texas, Douglas and Carrie Julien of Michigan, Patrick and Dawn (Julien) Woods of Indiana, and Darren Julien of California; grandchildren, Conner Sleep of Michigan, Rhiannon Eller, Adrian Eller, Samantha Sims, and Delany Sims all of Texas, Alexander Julien of Michigan, Alicia (Woods) Nutwell of Maryland, Pvt. 1st class Patrick Woods II of KS, Erica Woods, George Woods, Anthony Woods, Nicolette Woods, Lillian Woods, Joshua Woods and Benjamin Woods all of Indiana; great-grandchildren, Kainan Eller of Texas, Mason Nutwell of Maryland, Patrick Woods III and Peyton Woods both of Kansas; two brothers, Robert and Robin Pridgeon; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dr. James Pridgeon, D.D.S., and a sister: Nancy Thoms.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, at the Hackman Family Funeral Home — Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Paul R. Pridgeon will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at the Sturgis Baptist Church, 26268 W. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, with Pastor Paul Delmark, officiating.

Interment and graveside services will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the Sturgis Baptist Church, envelopes are available at the funeral home.
