Alberta Mae Babcock, age 75, of Huntsville, AL, died Sunday March 20, 2011 at Millenium Health Care in Huntsville. Alberta was the widow of Theodore “Ted” Babcock, formerly of Constantine. For the past 33 years Alberta has lived in Huntsville where she worked as a Registered Nurse at Huntsville Hospital. She was an active member of St. Charles Anglican Church, the Red Hat Society, and the Hurricane Homemakers. She was a volunteer at the Huntsville Free Clinic and the Huntsville Library. She was also a member of the Alabama State Nursing Association and was active in numerous community affairs.
Alberta is survived by 2 sons, Andrew Babcock of Huntsville, and Timothy (Kelley) Babcock of Parker, CO; 1 daughter, Katherine “Kay” Willis of Huntsville; and by 3 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted in 1999.
Funeral services in Michigan will be 11 a.m. Thursday March 24, 2011 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon followed by burial in Beard Cemetery in Leonidas Township. A memorial service will also be held later in Huntsville. The family suggests that memorials be directed to the Community Free Clinic of Huntsville, AL (www.hsvfreeclinic.org).
