Cory Alexander, 20

Cory V. Alexander, 20, of Mendon, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in Batavia Township. He was born in Kalamazoo on July 1, 1990 the son of Terry and Kelly (Miller) Alexander. He had been a lifetime resident of Mendon and member of the Mendon High School class of 2009. Cory was a loving and caring young man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and football on Sundays. He had been employed by Stratosphere in Colon.

Cory is survived by his father, Terry Alexander of Mendon; his mother, Kelly Miller of Three Rivers; his step-father, Gregg Wright of Mendon; brother, Terry Alexander, Jr. of Centreville; five sisters, Jessica (Zac) Rooney of Mendon, Michelle Sweet of Three Rivers, Wendy Matthews of Colon, Carrie and Lori Wright both of Mendon; a niece, Makenzie Rooney; several aunts and uncles; his estranged wife, Samantha Barber and her daughter, Sophie. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Geri and Kenneth Miller; and by paternal grandparents, Seborn and Mary Alexander.

Cremation has been conducted. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at the funeral home with Rev. Ward D. Pierce officiating. A private interment of ashes will take place later in Vicksburg Cemetery.
