Margaret White, 91

Margaret M. (Parker) White, 91, was born on Feb. 16, 1920 in St. Louis, Mo. to the union of the late Mr. Louis Parker and Harriet Beasley. They moved to Three Rivers in 1956. To this marriage three children were born: Henrietta Shannon of Mishawaka, Ind., Charlie Mae Copley of South Bend, Ind., and Margaret White of Three Rivers.

Margaret was employed at Owens Illinois in Constantine, where she retired after 10 years of service. She was a charter member of the Michigan First Grandmothers Club, also a former member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church (Three Rivers) for many years.

Margaret accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a current member of Monumental North Missionary Baptist Church in Three Rivers, where her son Rev. Ronald White, Sr. is pastor. Margaret was an exceptional active member of the church where she devoted all of her life to serving the Lord. She was chosen as the mother of the year for her exemplary service. Also and active member of the Sunday School department as a teacher, served in the nursery, and on the usher board, until she was not able to continue due to her illness.

Mrs. White and Sterling W. White Sr., who was her childhood sweetheart, were united in marriage on May 10, 1941 in St. Louis, Mo. To this union were born nine children and one adopted child.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sterling; two sisters; her adopted son, Joseph Boone. Leaving to cherish her memory are Louise Swanigan of St. Louis, Mo., Sterling (Diane) White Jr. of North Carolina, Ronald (Donna) White, Sr. of Three Rivers, Orren L. White Sr. of Three Rivers, Lawerence (Diane) White Sr. of Zion, Ill., Lamon White of Three Rivers and Harriet (Gwen) Jordan of Three Rivers, Anthony White Sr. of Three Rivers and Christine (Robert) Evans of Three Rivers.

Leaving also to cherish her memory are 40 grandchildren, 97 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Her love for her Lord and Savior and her family were her source of happiness.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 14, at the Bethel Baptist Church.

Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements by Hohner Funeral Home, Three Rivers.
