William “Biggie” Paul Schuler, age 60, of Sturgis, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at his home.
He was born June 15, 1950 in Sturgis, a son to William J. and Lois P. (Crosbie) Schuler.
William had been a resident of Sturgis all his life. On Aug. 22, 1975, he married Phyllis Bowsher in Centreville.
He was self-employed in the construction business and enjoyed fishing, hunting, smoking meats, going up north mushroom hunting, and helping friends with anything they might need.
Surviving are wife Phyllis; one daughter, Tracey (Kurt) Rogers of Three Rivers; three sons, Zachary (Farra) Schuler of Howe, Ind., Luke Schuler of Allendale and Shawn (Jaime) Schuler of Sturgis; nine grandchildren, Courtney and Ashley Carr, Hunter and McKenna Rogers, Emery, Skylar, Hunter, and Taylor Schuler, and Bradyn Webb; parents William and Lois Schuler of Sturgis; three brothers, John Schuler of Middletown, Ohio, Andrew (Robin) Schuler of Burr Oak, and Josef (Leah) Schuler of Rice Lake, Wis.; also several cousins, nieces, and nephews; many, many friends; and his dog and companion, Gizzmo.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place.
The family will receive friends and relatives for a time of remembrance from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at the Capt. John J. Kelley V.F.W. Post #1355, 264 W. Fawn River Road, Sturgis.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family. Envelopes are available at the Hackman Family Funeral Home — Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa, Sturgis, which is in charge of the arrangements.
