Bruce Arnold Walters, 52, of Sturgis, Mich., passed away early Thursday morning, April 14, 2011, at the University Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich.
He was born June 22, 1958, in Sturgis, Mich., a son of LaVerne and Shirley (Kunce) Walters.
Bruce was a lifelong Sturgis resident and a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1977. Bruce was self employed a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis and enjoyed hunting, shooting and time in the outdoors.
He is survived by one son, Gabriel (Katie) Walters of Bristol, Ind.; one grandson, Parker Walters; father, LaVerne Walters of Sturgis; one sister, Constance Rose of Sturgis; two brothers, Brent Walters and Brian Walters both of Sturgis; and several nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating the life of Bruce Walters will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23 at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis. Deacon Floyd Kunce will officiate.
