Doris Rae Armstrong, age 65, of White Pigeon, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, following a five-week illness.
She was born Feb. 22, 1946, in Drift, Ky., a daughter of Roy and Rose (Kelso) Wright.
Doris had been a resident of White Pigeon for 15 years, coming from Marcellus.
She was the wife of Charles Armstrong, a home maker and and factory worker.
Doris was a member of Three Rivers Eagles, and enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting, collecting dolls and antiques, canning and raising Dachshunds, but mostly spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, Charles; a son, James Scott (Bethany) Armstrong of White Pigeon; four grandchildren, Zoe, Scotty, Toby and Sophie Armstrong of White Pigeon; and many brother and sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation is noon-2 p.m. Friday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, prior to the 2 p.m. funeral.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family, the American Cancer Society or to the Juvenile Diabetes Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
