Dyana Lynn VanWagner, age 57, of Sturgis, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Three Rivers Health Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born May 16, 1953, in Three Rivers, a daughter of William and Beatrice (Schrader) Price.
Dyana graduated from Sturgis High School with the class of 1971 and resided in Sturgis around Omena Lake all of her life.
She had been employed at Abbott Laboratories in Sturgis for many years and enjoyed gardening, camping, traveling, white water rafting, horses, NASCAR, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving are her fiance, Michael Hagelgans of Sturgis; children Chad (Jennifer) VanWagner of Sturgis, Timothy (Aya) VanWagner of Campbell, Calif., Stephanie (Frank) Wallman of Kalamazoo and Scott Hagelgans of White Pigeon; four grandchildren, Michael Taylor, Benjamin Taylor, Ellis VanWagner and Rebecca Wallman; father, Bill (Linda) Price; mother, Beatrice Scott; two sisters, Willodean (Mike) Kurtz of Rome City, Ind., and Brenda (Leonard) Eggleson of Three Rivers; a stepsister, Penni Hold; and two stepbrothers, Rodney (Michelle) Pickern and Larry Pickern.
According to her wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends and relatives from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at the Hackman Family Funeral Home — Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Road, Sturgis.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Dyana Lynn VanWagner will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Sam Maddix officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial donations be directed to the American Cancer Society or Three Rivers Health Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
