James R. Breth, age 71, of Constantine passed away Friday, April 1, 2011 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was born in Detroit, MI on January 31, 1940, the son of Robert and Esther (Todt) Breth. James graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army for 3 years in Germany. On April 22, 1972, he married June Arnold at the Trinity MIssionary Church in Constantine.
James worked in sales & purchasing at Continental Can in Three Rivers from 1964 – 1972, and at Fibre Converters from 1972 until retirement in 2003. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his nieces & nephews, and working out at Health Trac.
Surviving James are his wife June Breth, Constantine, nephew Matthew Mikuta, great nephews Tyler Mikuta and Ethan Mikuta, Mother-in-law Dorothy (Arnold) & Walt Sult, Sturgis, brother-in-law Bill (Ann) Arnold, Constantine, sisters-in-law Beverly (Larry) Slaughter, Elkhart, Carole (Paul) Schumacher, White Pigeon, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary Ann Mikuta.
Relatives and friends will be received Tuesday from2-4 and 6-8 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious Services will be held Wed. at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Missionary Church, Constantine, with Reverend Terry Neumayer officiating. Interment will be at Constantine Cemetery.
