Stanley Edward Burkett, age 61, of Three Rivers, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Borgess Medical Center following a long term illness. Stan was born on April 8, 1950 in Three Rivers, MI. the son of James Sr. and Doris (Blentlinger) Burkett.
Stan has been a lifetime resident of Three Rivers. He was employed before his illness at Process Metals in White Pigeon for over twenty-five years. Stan loved working on and owning classic cars and started the “Buckhorn Bash” Classic Car Show. He also enjoyed working with computers and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Sharon, and one brother Paul Burkett.
Stan leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Connie (Monroe) Burkett, of Three Rivers, whom he married on Sept. 23, 1972 in Three Rivers. One son, Ed (Amber LaCourse) Burkett, of Three Rivers; one brother, James (Sharon Fisher) Burkett, of Plainwell, MI.; one sister-in-law, Linda Burkett, of Three Rivers; two grandchildren, Madison and Christopher LaCourse; and several nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
The Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Hohner Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the Hohner Funeral Home with Chaplain Dan Lane of Armstrong International officiating.
