Thelma Isaac, age 96, of Sturgis, Mich., passed away early Thursday morning, March 31, 2011, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.
She was born Aug. 31, 1914, in Sturgis, a daughter of the late Fred and Mary Dora (Kroll) Rahn.
Thelma had resided most of her life in Sturgis. On March 3, 1937, she married Elson E. Eberhard in Detroit. He died in August 1940. She married Harold Isaac on May 29, 1946, in Constantine. He died May 5, 2004.
She had been employed by Wade Electric, Sturgis Newport Business Forms and the Harter Corporation, all in Sturgis, and she was a homemaker.
Thelma was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sturgis and she enjoyed sending cards to friends and family members, watching the birds, gardening, taking pictures and loved going for rides in the car.
She is survived by her granddaughter-in-law, Toby Isaac of Sturgis; several great-grandchildren including Melissa (John) Delarye of Sturgis; several great-great-grandchildren including Logan Delarye of Sturgis; son-in-law, Henry Sparck, Sr. of the Saginaw area; five grandchildren, Justine Sparck, Fred Sparck, Mary Ruth McCreery, Jamie Sparck and Henry Sparck Jr., all of the Saginaw area.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter, Patricia Sparck; grandson, William D. “Yoder” Isaac; and great-granddaughter, Kristy Lee Isaac.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis. In accordance with her wishes cremation will follow the visitation. A private graveside service and burial of the ashes will take place at a later date at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis. The Rev. Paul Stern of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sturgis will officiate.
