Lauretta Mader, 101

Lauretta C. Mader, 101, of Three Rivers, died at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2011, at Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers, following an extended illness.

She was born Oct. 11, 1909, in Warsaw, Ind., a daughter of Lewis O. and Emma A. (Lee) Fisher. She had been a resident of Three Rivers, White Pigeon and Lake Templene.

On July 9, 1956, she married Harry Mader in Howe, Ind. He preceded her in death June 28, 2000.

She was employed at Adams Westlake in Elkhart, Ind., for 13 years, and Kirsch Company in Sturgis for 28 years, retiring in 1972.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Three Rivers. She was an avid volunteer for many causes, including Fairview in Centreville and secretary for Kirsch Retirees. She enjoyed traveling, bingo, cooking, canning, knitting and crocheting.

Surviving are a daughter, Juanita Diller of White Pigeon; a son, Richard (Kay) Dale of Three Rivers; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sons, Ronald and Raymond Dale; two sisters, Esther Ivins and Mildred Freese; and a brother, Thomas Fisher.

Visitation is noon-2 p.m. Saturday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, where a funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Constantine Methodist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
