Pearl A. Blank, age 86, of Centreville, died Monday, May 23rd, 2011 at Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers. Pearl was born in Three Rivers on April 11, 1925 a daughter of Elbert and Bertha (Peck) Ruggles. On December 5, 1942 Pearl married Donald E. Blank in Three Rivers. He preceded her in death September 16, 2002. Pearl worked as a nurses aid at Three Rivers Hospital and at Gilmores Hospital, Centreville, and for Dr. Mitchell, DC. She was a member of the D.A.V., and attended the Three Rivers Church of the Nazarene. Pearl enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family.
Surviving Pearl are her sons Don (Judi) Blank, Toledo, OH, Vince (Rhonda) Blank, Tampa, FL, sister Irene Castlebury, Deer Park, TX, brother Albert Richard (Nancy) Ruggles, Marcellus, sister-in-law Dorothy Ruggles, Three Rivers, grandchildren Austin Blank and Sydney Blank, several nieces and nephews. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Marie Blentlinger and Marjorie Hicks, and brothers, Earl, Jack and Merle Ruggles.
Relatives and friends will be received Saturday from 11am -1pm at the Eley Funeral Home in Centreville where Religious Services will follow at 1:00 p.m.. Pastor John Hill of Newberg Norton Bible Church will officiate. Interment will be in the Prairie River Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
