Adam Jacob Learn, age 14, of Three Rivers, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 6, 2011.
He was born on January 1, 1997, in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of Monty and Vicki Learn. Adam was a selfless and inspirational young man. His infectious and gentle smile and his kind nature made him a joy to be around. He was loved by his family, his classmates, and anyone who knew him. Adam was an avid outdoorsman. He could often be found hunting, fishing, shooting his bow and guns, skiing, swimming, riding his four-wheeler and snowmobiles. He was also an excellent athlete who excelled at several sports including football, baseball, soccer and bowling. Adam attended Three Rivers Middle School and was an outstanding member of the class of 2015. His presence in the halls of Three Rivers will be both missed and cherished. When not at school, spending time outdoors, or playing sports, Adam could be found making memories with his family and friends. His laughter and joy will be missed around the dinner table, at holidays, and during summer campfires at the house. He was truly a wonderful young man who will be missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents; grandfather, Bill Scott; aunts and uncles, Tom (Fran) Litzner, Candy (Jeff) Murray, and Gary Litzner; cousins, and great friends, including his pet dog Shadow, and pet pig Porkchop. He was preceded in passing by his grandparents, Ethel and Ray Litzner, and Bev Scott and Monroe Learn Sr.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2011, and from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2011, at the Hohner Funeral Home. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2011, at the Three Rivers High School Auditorium, with Pastors Paul Booko, Steve Miller, and Jerry Solis officiating. In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation will take place following the service.
