Clarence Lemon Jr., 73

Clarence Lemon Jr., 73, of Three Rivers, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at his home, with his loving family at his side.

Clarence was born Sept. 27, 1937, in Constantine, a son of Clarence and Elsie (Church) Lemon.

He resided in the Three Rivers area the past five years, coming from Constantine, where he lived most of his life. He lived two years in Seney as a child and wintered in Venice, Fla.

Clarence was employed in the recreational vehicle industry in his early life, at Weyerhaeuser Company in Middlebury, Ind., and retired from Process Metals in White Pigeon after 23 years. He was also employed by St. Joseph County Parks and Recreation, attending to Nottawa and Cade Lake parks.

Clarence enjoyed meeting and talking with people, mowing lawns and camping with family. He had a deep admiration for Dodge trucks and MOPAR cars.

He was married to Andrea Burk, whom he later divorced.

On June 8, 1973, he married Patricia (Hesher) Dittmar in Three Rivers.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Patricia; his special daughter, Sherri (David) Strozewski of Amarillo, Texas; daughter Elizabeth (Tony Vanscoik) Harwell of Constantine; sons John Dettmar of Constantine and Robert (Cindy) Lemon of Millersburg, Ind.; a sister, Olive (John) Gross of White Pigeon; a brother, Harold Lemon of Constantine; a half-brother, Russell (Barbara) Reed of Elm Hall; two sisters-in-law, Becky Lemon of Constantine and Nancy (James) Summers of Constantine; his mother-in-law, Laura Hesher of Three Rivers; grandchildren Michele, Michaela and Michael (Vianca Castro) Strozewski, Brent (Shasta McGill) Dettmar, Brock (Tiffany Schumacher) Lemon, Laura and Lidia Harwell; great-grandchildren Kamryn Strozewski and Emily Dettmar; step-grandchildren Josh (Melisa) Delcamp and Jeremy Delcamp; step-great-grandchildren, Ellee, Olivia, Carson and Kyleigh Delcamp and Joey Reis; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Walter Wilcox; a brother, James Lemon; a sister, Helen Demski; a grandson, D.J. Strozewski; his father-in-law, Dale Hesher; and a brother-in-law, Frank Hesher.

Relatives and friends may call from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, where services are at 2 p.m. Friday, with Pastor John McClemens of the First Church of God in Three Rivers officiating. Interment will be in Constantine Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be directed to Three Rivers Hospice or St. Joseph County Parks and Recreation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
