Zayda Wolf, age 80, of Constantine, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011, at her home.
She was born Jan. 19, 1931, in Corey, a daughter of Virgil and Frances (Welburn) Miller.
Zayda graduated from White Pigeon High School in 1949 and attended Kalamazoo Cosmetology School.
On Sept. 11, 1949, she married Raymond R. Wolf at the Cassopolis Methodist Church. He preceded her in death Sept. 9, 1991.
Zayda owned and operated the Venus Beauty Salon in Sturgis from 1966-2003. She was a 55-year member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Constantine, member of the Order of Eastern Star # 210 Three Rivers since 1976, the Friendship Club and the Widows Group. Zayda enjoyed sewing, raspberry picking and collecting chicken figurines. Mostly Zayda loved her family and friends and cherished spending time with each.
Surviving are her daughters, LaNae (Fred) Yager of White Pigeon and Arlene (Marty) Sorensen of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a son, Wade (Julie) Wolf of Constantine; sisters Oma (Wallace) Bowen, of LaGrange, Ind., and Ideana (Clarence) Yoder of Millersburg, Ind.; a brother, Sharron Miller of White Pigeon; grandchildren, Dustin (Amy) Plank, Jaime (Chris) Romanyk, Shanna (Ryan) Gableman, Valerie (Daryn) Kinney, Andrea (Heath) Watson, Melodi (Mickael) Delaveau, and Grant (fiancee Jacie Lindsey) Wolf; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Verland Miller; and sister, Vivian Shirley Miller.
Relatives and friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine, where Eastern Star services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday. Religious services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 17 at the funeral home with Pastor Marilyn Schlimgen officiating. Interment will be in the Constantine Cemetery.
