David Walter Bowman, 55, of Sturgis, and formerly of Myerstown, Pa., died Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Three Rivers Health.
He was the husband of Grace E. Sargent Bowman. He was born Oct. 27, 1955, in Lebanon County, Pa., a son of J. Clyde Bowman of Dayton, Va., and the late Kathleen Smith Bowman.
David was most recently employed as a driver for Essenhaus Restaurant in Middlebury, Ind. While living in Pennsylvania, he worked on the farm and later as an EMT for the K&W Ambulance Service in Myerstown., the Lebanon First Aid and Safety Patrol and the Ephrata Ambulance Service through the Ephrata Community Hospital, Pa.
He also volunteered with the Myerstown Ambulance Association and attended Centerville United Methodist Church in Centerville.
Surviving in addition to his wife and father are stepchildren Christopher Makuch and Samantha Makuch; a sister, Sharon Krall of Lititz, Pa., and stepmother, Janice Bowman of Dayton, Va.; and nephews Matthew and Nathan Krall.
Memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Myerstown Church of the Brethren, 51 W. Stoever Ave., Myerstown, Pa., with a viewing beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
There also will be a memorial service for David at 1 p.m. Sunday at Centerville United Methodist Church in Centerville, with a potluck to follow.
