Glen Geigley, 58

Glen Geigley, age 58, of Sturgis, passed away, Thursday, July 28, 2011, unexpectedly at his home. 

Glen was born on Oct. 26, 1952, in Gettysburg, Pa., a son to the late Roy and Gladys (Martin) Geigley. 

On Sept. 4, 1971, he married Mary Ellen Yoder in Centreville. 

Glen had made his home in the Nottawa area since 1995 coming from Arizona. He was presently employed as assistant manager at Nottawa Lumber and had also managed State Line Diesel in Edwardsburg. 

Glen was a member of Calvary Chapel in Sturgis and was very involved with prison ministries. 

Glen loved time spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Geigley of Sturgis; four children, Galen (April) Geigley of Sturgis, Vonda (Lynn) Miller of San Antonio, Texas, Nathan (Joanna) Geigley of Centreville, and Regina (Dana) Stauffer of Centreville; grandchildren as Glen would say “12 grandchildren, one on the way and two in heaven;” five brothers, Ray (Dottie) Geigley of Pennsylvania, Donald (Esther) Geigley of Pennsylvania, Arlin (Becky) Geigley of Colorado, Alvin (Carolyn) of Iowa and Leon (Barbara) Geigley of Indiana; two sisters, Anna Lois (Glenn) Miller of New Mexico and Esther (Harley) Kauffman of Oregon; and many nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by twin granddaughters; and one brother, Melvin Geigley.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Chapel, 66969 North Centerville Road, Sturgis. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with pastors Harold Carpenter, John David Yoder and Thomas Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Chapel Cemetery. 

If desired the family suggest memorials be made in memory of Glen to either Gospel Express or Gospel Echoes Prison Ministries. Envelopes will be available at the church or the Schipper Funeral Home in Colon.
