James E Cannon, 55, died suddenly from complications from diabetes last Monday June 27th, 2011, at his home in Jonesboro, GA. Jim leaves behind his partner Jeff Newbill. Jeff and Jim had been together for over 24 years and were legally married last August in Salem, MA.
Son of Orvil Cannon and Martha Tucker Cannon, both deceased, Jim grew up in the Three Rivers area.
A memorial service will be held grave side in Mayfield, KY at 11am CDT (noon EDT) on Tuesday, July 12th. In accordance with his wishes, Jim will be interred at his mother’s grave. The location is:

Mayfield, KY
It will be a short ceremony, following by a luncheon for attendees in Paducah, KY.
In lieu of flowers, Jeff asks that donations can be made in Jim’s name to the American Diabetes Association, United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta or the Tommy Nobis Center at Marietta, GA.
