Out and About – Week of July 11th

I really enjoy a good fish dinner, but I’m not a fisherman. Those of you who have this in common with me, will want to head over to the Marcellus VFW this Friday, July 15, for their all-you-can-eat fish dinner. Fish will be served from 5 to 7 P.M. Prices are reasonable too. Only $8 for adults and the cost for children age 12 and under is $4.50. Leave the fishing tackle and bait at home. Just take the family and everyone’s appetite to Marcellus. The fish will be cleaned, cooked, and waiting for you to get there.
If you are the proud owner of a classic car, the Village of Constantine wants to talk to you. It seems they are holding their second annual car show tomorrow, Wednesday, July 13, from 3 until 7 P.M. I apologize for the late notice on this event. All you spectators need to do is beat a path  to East Water Street in Constantine, and don’t forget to take your cameras. If you need more information than I’ve been able to provide, please phone (269)506-1869. I’m sure that the person who answers the phone, will fill you in on all the details.
A final reminder for golfers interested in participating in the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Golf Outing being held at Pine View Golf Club.  July 12 is the final day to register for the July 26 outing. Give Deb a call at the Chamber office and see if it’s not too late. Her number is (269)278-8193. The Chamber is still in need of sponsorship and prizes. The cost for participation is $60 per person. Included is 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch, contests, Mulligans, prizes, and the opportunity to network with other golfers. Registration starts at 10 A.M. with an 11 A.M. shotgun start. If you do not have a full team, they will pair you.
The Animal Rescue Fund (ARF) will host another garage sale this Saturday and Sunday, July 16 and 17. Once again, it will be held at 1035 South Washington in neighboring Constantine. This is next to the Bank of America office. ARF is seeking donations of gently used items for this sale. You may drop off your donations at Beam Sound and Video in Three Rivers, or call Lee Ann Farmer at (269)435-7700, and make arrangements for a drop off, or have your items picked up. ARF does so much for the forgotten animals in St. Joseph County and they could really use your support for this worthwhile event.
You would be surprised as to how many people are unaware of the many FREE events happening at the Three Rivers Public Library. For the children, or for those young at heart, Joel Tacey will bring his “One-derful World Comedy Show” to the library next Tuesday, July 19, beginning at 10:30 A.M. What a wonderful opportunity to spend some quality time with your child at the library. The library is located at 103 South Douglas in Three Rivers.
Summer vacation time is at the halfway mark. Don’t let it slip away without taking in some of the many activities happening here in St. Joe County.
See you Out and About!
