Ruth A. Bolender of Sun City West, Ariz., and a former resident of Sturgis, went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2011, after a long battle with cancer.
Ruth was born Nov. 9, 1931, in LaGrange County, Ind. She graduated from LaGrange High School with the class of 1949.
In 1954, she met her husband, Raymond, and they married that same year.
She retired in 1993 from Ross Laboratories of Sturgis. In 2001, she and Ray moved to Arizona, with their family following in 2002.
She was a member of the Arthritis Club of Sun City West and the Pennsylvania Club. She enjoyed her many friends, her “sisters” of Arizona, going to the casino and doing things for other people. She truly enjoyed life.
Ruth is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Raymond; two daughters, Raeletta of Sun City West and Shelli with her husband JR of Peoria, Ariz.; two grandsons, Nicholas and Ryan; two brothers, Carl and Frank; two sisters, Doris and Marge; a special cousin, Shirley Ann; and her beloved dog, Buddy.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Raejean; sisters Irene and Dorothy; and a brother, Billy.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City.
