John Case, 65

David John Case, 65, of Colon, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 25, 2011, at his home.

John was born July 11, 1946, in Sturgis, a son of David James and Blanch Helen (Kusack) Case.

John had lived most of his life at his present address, and had attended Colon schools.

On Oct. 9, 1965, he married Sally Hawver in Sturgis.

John was a member of Crossroads Bible Church in Sherwood.

John had driven truck for 42 years, at Vanguard in Colon for 17 years, for Direct Services in Virginia for 10 years, and for various other places for the last few years, having to retire due to poor health.

He is survived by his wife, Sally Case of Colon; a son, Douglas (Kelly) Case of Colon; a daughter, Debbra Swope of Colon; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; his mother, Blanch H. Case of Niles; two sisters, Phyllis (Ronald) Hammer of Fort White, Fla., and Janis Price of Niles; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, David James Case.

There will be no visitations. Cremation has taken place. A memorial services celebrating the life of D. John Case will take place at 4 p.m. Sunday at Crossroads Bible Church in Sherwood, with the Rev. Trent Hammond officiating.

If desired, the family suggest memorials be made in memory of John to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
