June Bontrager, 75

June W. Bontrager, 75, of Constantine, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011 at the Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. She was born in Grand Rapids on June 5, 1936, a daughter of William H. and Fern I. (Wadsworth) Hood. On July 7, 1951 June married Jacob C. Bontrager in Covington, Ky. Together they owned and operated Jacob’s Kountry Kitchen in Windsor, Ill. June enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing scrabble.

Surviving are her husband, Jacob Bontrager of Constantine; daughters, Crystal (Bill) Bailey of Constantine, Brandi (Wayne Simon) Baird of San Luis Obispo, Calif. and Wendy (Don) Bontrager-Harwell of Las Vegas, Nev.; son, Gene (Amy) Bontrager of Cedar Lake; nine grandchildren, six step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Laura (Mike) Hefferman of Daytona, Fla.; brothers, Bill Hood of Sturgis and Earl (Ruth) Hood of Fairfield, Calif.; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kimberly Jo Bontrager; sister, Gloria Stewart; brother, Robert Hood.

Relatives and friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious Services will be held at the Mottville Bible Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, with Pastor Michael Bender officiating. Interment will be in the Constantine Cemetery.
