June E. Moord, 83, of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at Parkview Hospital.
Born Aug. 1, 1928, in Chicago, she had been a para professional at Paul Harding High School.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir and volunteered in the soup kitchen, the League of Women’s Voters and the Shoaff Park Golf League.
She was one of the originators of the Matthew 25 Clinic and the recipient of community service awards from Tower Bank, 15 Who Care and the Channel 21 Jefferson Award. “She was a person who gave much and asked little.”
Surviving are daughters, Deborah (Bill) Josephson of Kalamazoo, Susan (Al) Christoules of Fort Wayne and Peggy Toliver of Harrisonburg, Va.; sons, Martin (Kathy) Moord of Vandalia, William (Deb) Moord of New Haven, Jeff Moord of Fort Wayne and Daniel (Sherri) Moord of Fort Wayne; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Judy Roberts of Longmont, Colo. and Patty Stover of Edwardsburg; and brother, Butch Nottoli of Lancaster, Cal. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elliott, in 2009; and brothers, Robert and Richard Nottoli.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1101 S. Lafayette with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Father Phillip Widmann officiating. Visitation also from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne.
Private burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in White Pigeon, Mich. Preferred memorials to Matthew 25 Clinic.
