John Charles Boughton Sr., 68 of Roy, Wash., and formerly of Sturgis, passed away Sept. 6, 2011.
He was born March 4, 1943, in Sturgis.
John graduated from Sturgis High School in 1961 and moved to Washington in 1970. He retired from the Todd Shipyard after 25 years.
In recent years, he was a NRA Golden Eagles member and spent most of his time at County Line Shooting sports in McKenna and Van Cleave Ford in Morton Wash.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Violet; and a sister, Judy Gianno.
He is survived by his sons, John (Diane) Boughton Jr. and Sean Boughton; former spouse Leona “Charlene” Canfield; four grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and a brother, Jack (Mary) Boughton.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Saturday) at County Line Shooting Sports, 35502 Hwy. 507 South, McKenna, WA 98558.
