William L. McManus IV of Colon, passed away, Friday, Sept. 23, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital in Battle Creek.
Bill was born April 12, 1931, in Detroit, a son of the late William L. III and Gertrude (Gimnich) McManus.
Bill graduated from Constantine High School with the class of 1949, he then continued his education at Hiram College in Hiram, Ohio, graduating in 1953, he later graduated from the University of Michigan with his Juris Doctorate Degree in Law in 1956.
Bill worked for St. Joseph County for 40 years first as Prosecutor and later as District Court Judge for 34 years, retiring in 2002.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marilyn McManus of Colon; a son, William L. McManus V and wife, Terry, of Colon; a daughter, Maureen Teunissen and husband David of Middlebury, Ind.; grandchildren William L. McManus VI, Anita McManus, and David Maxwell Teunissen.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Schipper Funeral Home in Colon. A memorial service celebrating the life of William L. McManus will take place at noon Tuesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Kurt Kuhlmann officiating.
