Wilma Masterson, 94

Wilma E. (Boone) Masterson, age 94, of Sturgis, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at her home. She was born in Cooper Twp, , MI on March 20, 1917,  a daughter of Jacob and Wilhelmina (Weenink) Grofvert. Wilma attended school in Twin Lakes near Plainwell.
On June 6, 1935 Wilma married Abraham Boone in Plainwell. He preceded her in death Feb. 13, 1993. She later married Caroll Masterson on June 16, 2001 . He passed away March 31, 2008. Wilma worked at Kal-Equip Otsego for 20 years, retiring 1976. She also helped her husband Abraham operate their farm in Plainwell for many years. Wilma was a member of the Centreville Baptist Church and a former member of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are her daughter  Lois (Paul) Mayuiers, Sturgis, son  James A. (Jackie) Boone of Branden, FL, three step children, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, sister Jeanette Taft and 3 brothers Carl Middlebush, Harvey Grofvert and Donald Grofvert.
Relatives and friends will be received Thursday from 22-4 and 6-8 pm at the Eley Funeral Home in Centreville.  Religious Service will be  Friday at 10:00 a.m.  at the Centreville Baptist Church with Pastor David Peterson officiating. Interment will be at West Cooper Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Centreville Baptist Church; 115 E. Burr Oak St. Centreville, MI 49032.
