Jim Dobrowolski, 66

James Joseph “Jim” Dobrowolski, 66, of Three Rivers, died peacefully Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011 at Fairview Nursing and Rehab Community in Centreville surrounded by his family. He was born in Three Rivers on July 17, 1945 the son of Joseph Leo and Elizabeth Ann (Darish) Dobrowolski and was a lifetime resident of Three Rivers. He graduated from Three Rivers High School with the class of 1965 and later served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS York County. Jim worked in maintenance and had been employed by Ward Aero, Michigan Power Co., Clifton Engineering, Schmitt Farms, and the City of Three Rivers. He was a member of Hice-Shutes American Legion Post #170. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, visiting with friends, cruises around the countryside, and mowing and maintaining the farm that he loved.

Jim is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Dobrowolski of Three Rivers; two brothers, Wesley (Carol) Dobrowolski of Three Rivers and Bill (Jody) Dobrowolski of Sturgis; four sisters, Jane (Bill) Shively, Barbara Dobrowolski, Mary (Tom) Merchant and Alice Dobrowolski all of Three Rivers; many nieces and nephews; and uncles Chet (Bernice) Dobrowolski of Three Rivers and Bill (Betty Jean) Darish of Northville. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph.

There will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Three Rivers with Rev. Father Rob Johansen officiating. Military honors will be given by Hice-Shutes American Legion Post #170. Burial will be in Parkville Cemetery. In appreciation for their compassionate care, memorials will be directed to Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation Community, 441 E. Main, Centreville, MI 49032.
