Lucille L. Main, 90, of Greenville, and a former longtime Sturgis resident, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 at Spectrum Health United Hospital in Greenville.
She was born July 21, 1921 in Crystal, a daughter of the late George H. and Bertha (Taylor) Hoover.
On July 17, 1937, she married Charles E. Main in Sturgis. He died Nov. 20, 1999.
Lucile loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed reading books and going to the senior centers in Belding and Ionia.
She is survived by a daughter, Judy Ann (John) Brown of Greenville; a son, Jerrol L. (Katherine) Main of Bloomfield, Iowa; grandchildren Tracey Brown of Champaign, Ill., Troy (Elizabeth) Brown of Grand Rapids, Eric Brown of Greenville, Jason (Tiffany) Main of Belvidere, Ill., Corey (Sarah) Clinch of Berlin, Wis., Ryan Main of Berlin, Wis. and Timothy Clinch of LaCrosse, Wis.; great-grandchildren Zoe, Wyatt, Jaron, Anna Mae, Brie, Chloe, Lauren, Isabelle, Elizabeth and Dalton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Merle, Ira and Arlo Hoover; and four sisters, Gladys Stuart, Theo Reed, Marie Scott and Lemoine Hoover.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Marshall Funeral Home in Greenville and on from 1-2 p.m. Monday at Hackman Family Funeral Homes — Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Lucile L. Main will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Calvin Kolzow of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
