Nancy Ruth Rice, age 80, of Glenview, Ill., died Friday, April 22, 2011, in Glenview, following a three-year illness.
She was born Jan. 19, 1931, in Royal Oak, a daughter of Lloyd and Caroline (Wagner) Tasker.
Nancy had been a resident of Glenview since 1968, where she was a homemaker who enjoyed fiber arts and gardening.
She was the widow of Donald D. Rice, who was a former resident of Leonidas, and a member of the Mendon High School class of 1945.
Nancy is survived by three sons and their wives, Jerry and Esther Rice of Arlington Heights, Ill., Tom and Marianne Rice of Mahtomedi, Minn., and Brian and Misha Rice of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Brad (and wife Meredith) Rice, Gail Rice, Adena Rice, Eric (and wife, Kailey) Rice, Anna Rice, Carl Rice, Carrick Rice and Kiegan Rice; two great-grandchildren, Andrew Rice and Landon Rice; a brother, Leland Tasker; two sisters, Phyllis Tasker and Carol Tasker; and a niece, Kay Duckworth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; and three brothers, Gordon, Dane, and Stanley Tasker.
Cremation has been conducted, and a memorial service was held in Illinois. A graveside service is being planned for 3 p.m. Saturday at Leonidas Cemetery.
