Ronald C. Melvin, 64, of Three Rivers, went to be with his Lord and Savior peacefully at home on Friday, Oct. 7, 2011.
He was born on Jan. 8, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio to Carl W. and Mary V. (Strucensky) Melvin, and was married to Rochelle M. Albright on April 19, 1980 in Niles.
Ron was a Three Rivers area resident since 1977. He was owner and operator of Melvin Excavating since 1980, and was owner and operator of the Hickory Lane Mobile Home Park in Three Rivers. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, helping people, fixing things, his two dogs Bobbie and Bella, his cat Wendall, and St. Joe Valley Golf League.
He is survived by his wife, Rochelle M. Melvin of Three Rivers; brother, Michael (Carolyn) Melvin of Howe, Ind.; two sisters, Carol Allen of Dayton, Ohio and Brenda (Frank) Elam of Winchester, Ky.; several nieces and nephews; the Albright family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Ernie Allen and John Weaver; sister-in-law, Diane Albright; aunt, Stella Strucensky.
By his request cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be Saturday, Oct. 15 at 11 a.m. at the Three Rivers Bible Church with Rev. Rodger C. Moyer of the Sturgis Evangelical Church officiating. Memorial donations may be directed to the Three Rivers Bible Church, Sturgis Evangelical Church or Three Rivers Hospice. Envelopes are available at the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers which is in charge of arrangements.
