Anne Pyke, 88

Anna Pyke, age 88, of Colon, passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at the home of her son in Sturgis.

Anna was born March 19, 1923, in South Bend, Ind., a daughter to the late Gasper and Anna (Deri) Simon.

On April 27, 1946, she married Eugene Pyke in Mishawaka, Ind. He preceded her in death on July 3, 2003.

She had been employed at Precision Peace Parts and Uniroyal Rubber both of South Bend. She was also a homemaker. Anna enjoyed crocheting and dancing, especially doing the Jitter Bug.

She is survived by one son, Eugene L. Pyke and wife Heidi; and one granddaughter, Mandi Pyke, all of Sturgis, and special friend Iona Robbins of Colon.

There will be no visitations, a memorial service celebrating the life of Anna Pyke will take place Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at 11 a.m. from the Schipper Funeral Home LTD in Colon with Pastor Kurt Stevens officiating. If desired memorials may be directed to the family.
