Bervin E. Roe, 92, of White Pigeon, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis, after an extended illness.
He was born July 26, 1919, in Mishawaka, Ind., a son of Brant E. and Margarie (Hecklebower) Roe. He had lived in the Stone Lake area early in life, and White Pigeon most of his life.
On Nov. 3, 1939, he married Bonnie Lee Hughes. She died May 26, 1990.
He was a farmer all his life, and was employed for a short time by the White Pigeon Paper Mill.
He enjoyed working in his yard and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was a 1936 graduate of Scott High School.
Surviving are two daughters, Marge (Pete) Cholometes of Poulsbo, Wash., and Marilyn (Edward) Boyer of Union; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; and his parents.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Scott Manning of White Pigeon United Methodist Church will officiate.
Interment will follow in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.
