Cora Campbell, 83

Cora L. Campbell, 83, of Three Rivers, died Friday morning, Nov. 11, 2011. Cora was born Feb. 1, 1928 in Trommald, Minn. a daughter of Clyde and Joyce (Fleener) Brooks. She had been a Kalamazoo-area resident since 1938 and owned and operated Home Bakery for 20 years. Cora also worked at Western Michigan University for 11 years before retiring in 1992.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William G. Campbell on Dec. 17, 1997; a son, Robert Campbell in January 2004; and a sister, Shirley Thomsen.

Cora is survived by a daughter, Joyce (Denis) Waltz of Three Rivers; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Campbell of Texas; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Hollis Brooks of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 in Schoolcraft Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer or the Michigan Heart Fund. Arrangements were made by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. 343-1508.
