Dayton Howard, age 57, of Three Rivers, passed away on Monday, Nov. 21, 2011 at the Borgess Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born in Magoffin County, Kentucy, on Oct. 17, 1954 the son of Ell and Goldie (Shephard) Howard.
Dayton has been a life long resident of this area. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. being discharged as a Private First Class in 1976. On Oct. 11, 1982 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Stephanie (Barker) Howard. Dayton has been a master welder for over thirty years and was employed by Dexter Chassis Corp. for 15 years.
Mr. Howard was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Donna Eggleston.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving family, wife, Stephanie Howard of Three Rivers; two daughters, Melissa (Rick) Surdick, and Brittany (Matt Triestram) Howard, all of Three Rivers; three sisters, Sharion Greenleaf, Grace Shephard, and Tena Lynn Bailey; three brothers, Graydon and Tildon Howard, and Kirk Conley; three grandchildren, Renee, Ricky, and Ayva.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26th, 2011 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Hodge officiating.
Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the American Legion Hice-Shutes Post #170 with interment of cremains at Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later date.
