Helen Hill, 84

Helen I. Hill, 84, of Mottville Township, White Pigeon, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers, after an extended illness.

She was born Jan. 3, 1927, in Goshen, Ind., a daughter of Noble C. and Freda M. (Sheley) Vance.

She had been a resident of Mottville since 1973, coming from Goshen.

On Aug. 6, 1943, she married Raymond D. Hill in Goshen.

She was a homemaker, and a member of Goshen VFW Post #985, Goshen DAV Post #15 and Constantine American Legion Post #223.

Surviving are her husband, Raymond D. Hill of Mottville; three sons, Douglas (Sandra) Hill of Mottville, and Dennis Hill and Donald (Nancy) Hill of White Pigeon; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters,

Beulah Roose and Maxine (Roy) Archer of Goshen; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Everit and Allen; and a foster son, Nick Eppert.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wilbur Brandli officiating. Interment will take place in Mottville Township Cemetery.
