Mary Jo Kauffman, age 62, of Colon, passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at her home, from injuries received in a house fire.
Mary was born Oct. 10, 1949, in Battle Creek a daughter of the late Arno and Wilma (Irish) McClish.
Mary had lived at her present address since 1976, coming from Sturgis. She graduated from Colon High School with the class of 1968.
She was presently employed at T-H Plastics in Mendon, where she had worked for the past 33 years.
Mary enjoyed crocheting, sewing, baking and especially time spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, James (Michelle) Kauffman of Burr Oak; two grandchildren, Lori and Jacob Kauffman of Burr Oak; a brother, Charles (Rita) McClish of Fulton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lori Kauffman.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Schipper Funeral Home in Colon.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Mary Jo Kauffman will take place at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with Mr. David J. Farrell officiating.
Private interment will take place at a later date at the Locust Grove Cemetery in Findley.
If desired, memorials may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
