Claudell Coleman, 65, of Sturgis, and formerly of White Pigeon, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, following an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 29 1945, in Forrest City, Ark., a child of Osco and Ella (Barnett) Coleman. She had lived in Sturgis, coming from White Pigeon and had also resided in Arkansas and Florida.
She was retired from Syndicate in Middlebury, Ind., and was a librarian and member of the St. Joseph County Historical Society and enjoyed genealogy research.
Surviving are two sons, William M. Chandler of Sturgis and Joseph J. Chandler of Mottville; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and sisters.
Visitation is from noon-2 p.m. Saturday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Corey Happner, of LaGrange Christian Fellowship officiating. Interment will follow in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.
