Emily Jane Gosnell, age 66, of Centreville, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, at home, surrounded by her family after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Sept. 13, 1945, in Three Rivers, a daughter of Orville and Alice (Crossgrove) Shirk Sr.
Mrs. Gosnell loved spending time with her family, playing Skip-Bo, reading, crocheting and working when she could.
Mrs. Gosnell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James (Lou) Gosnell; twin sons, Gary and Gene Gosnell; her mother, Alice Kissel; a sister, Laura; a brother, Orville Jr.; and two granddaughters, Emily and Joyce Donley.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving family: daughters, Samantha (John) Wodtkey of Elkhart, Ind., Mary (David) Johnson of Centreville, and Linda (Mike) Stratton and Crystal (Mark) Shadix, both of Sturgis; two sisters, Marge Brown and Deb Jones; two brothers, Bruce and Bert Shirk; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. Tuesday until time of services at 1 p.m. at Hohner Funeral Home in Three Rivers.
Interment will be held in Constantine Cemetery, Constantine.
