Marjorie M Hawkins, age 81, of Constantine, passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
She was born in Schoolcraft on April 19, 1930, a daughter of Leon and Cora (Barnell) Westphal.
On April 5, 1952, she married Junior Hawkins in Sturgis.
Marjorie was a bus driver for Constantine Public Schools for over 20 years. Marjorie enjoyed traveling, listening to country music and going dancing. She loved taking care of her family and was a beautiful wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving Marjorie are her husband Junior Hawkins of Constantine; daughter, Marjorie Hayes of Constantine; sons, Ronnie (Valerie) Hawkins of Sturgis, Robert Hawkins of Constantine; sisters, Dorothy (Howard) Harker of Sturgis, Mary (Wayne) Strayer of Howe, Ind.; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson Michael Hayes; and great-grandson Austin Hayes.
Relatives and friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Alan Lickfeldt officiating. Interment will be at Peek Cemetery.
