Wanda Cross, 79

Wanda June Cross, age 79, of Sturgis, Michigan passed away Friday morning, December 16, 2011 at her home.

She was born June 3, 1932 in Burr Oak, Michigan a daughter of the late Orlo and Dorothy (Hackman) Stroup.

Wanda was a lifelong Sturgis and Burr Oak area resident. In 1977 she married Lawrence John Cross in Centreville, Michigan.

Wanda had been employed by area factories and she was a homemaker. She enjoyed wood burning plaques, crocheting, working in her yard and caring for her flowers.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence, one daughter, Jeri Andrews of Sturgis, one son, Monty Lowery of Bristol, Wisconsin, four grandchildren, Jim, Tammy, Tina and Adam and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Rusty Lowery.

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating the life of Wanda Cross will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa Street, Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-2331.
