Elmer Schrock, 60

Elmer Jacob Schrock, age 60, of Bristol, Ind., died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2012, at his home.

He was born Nov. 20, 1951, in Arcola, Ill., a son of Joe D. and Elizabeth (Otto) Schrock, and he had lived in the White Pigeon-Constantine area since 1962.

On Sept. 1, 1973, he married Cindy Copsey in Constantine. They were later divorced.

Elmer was a longtime employee of Owens-Illinois in Constantine. He enjoyed playing his harmonica, fixing and tinkering with things, and was a big NASCAR fan.

Elmer is survived by two daughters, Kandi (Meredith) Purk and Crystal (Lawrence) Burch, both of White Pigeon; three grandchildren, Alexis and Austin Walters and Mason Burch; five siblings, Katherine Dodson, Grace Grove, Ida Grove, Edna Wolfinger and Joe Schrock; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Andy Schrock; and his second wife, Marilyn (Wilson) Schrock.

Cremation has been conducted. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, with Pastor Don Smith of Firm Foundation Ministries officiating.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Elmer’s ashes will be interred at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
