Three Rivers Health officials announced the hospital’s first baby of the new year was born Sunday afternoon.
The son of Paige Tice and Ethan Rhodes was born at 2:43 p.m. on New Year’s Day. The new arrival, who was 2 1/2 months early, weighed 3 pounds and 9.4 ounces.
The parents, who are Three Rivers residents, named their son Chance Ray. Due to his premature birth, he was taken to the neonatal unit at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, where he is reported in good condition.
