Larry Lee Falkenstein, age 62, of Sturgis, Michigan passed away early Saturday morning December 31, 2011 at the Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in Centreville, Michigan.
He was born May 14, 1949 in Sturgis, Michigan a son of the late Donald L. “Jim” and Ethelynn June (Taylor) Falkenstein.
Larry was a lifelong Sturgis resident. For many years he had been employed as a welder and for ten years he worked for EZ Tree Experts in Sturgis.
Larry enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and time spent with friends and family.
He is survived by one daughter, Linda Falkenstein of Sturgis, one son, Larry Falkenstein, Jr. of Marquette, six grandchildren, Kristin, Jesse, Bryan, Airiel, Cody and Kevin, one great granddaughter, Jemma, one sister, Nancy (Guy) Sias of Sturgis, three brothers, Harold (Dorothy) Falkenstein of Sturgis, Ricky (Tina) Falkenstein of Sturgis and Donald (Debbie) Falkenstein of Wellston and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two nephews, Nathan Falkenstein and Gary Sias and one great niece, Sarah Sias.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:45 P.M. Wednesday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-2331. Funeral services celebrating the life of Larry Lee Falkenstein will begin at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Glenn Middleton of the Christian Fellowship Center in Sturgis will officiate. Cremation will follow the service.
